Gefell and Old Friends

Last night Annika and I walked through the town to visit her friend Stephanie, who will be driving us to and from Munich next week. It was especially cool to sit with Stephanie and her family because she spoke English and her father was an English teacher in the local German school. It was great to talk about America, life there, politics, pop culture, and many other topics with people who were interested and excited to hear about it. It was a great night. We drank wine and talked until late next to a fire in a courtyard area. I now see the positive aspects of living in a small town, there is a great sense of community. The girls that were sitting with us had known each other for their entire lives. It is a completely different way of life here. A great night again! This afternoon we will go to Schöndorf again. It is clearing here so a night of stargazing is probably in order. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am glad you found a sense of peace in the small community. It's great to have friends all of one's life. Claire you have a sense of that through your friendship with Liz. Sitting around a fire, sipping wine, and talking about one's home cvountry to people who truely want to hear about it must have been a great up lifiting experience. I'm sure Annika also had a lot to contribute to that conversation knowing both aspects to some degree. Continue to have fun. Can't wait to you get home, miss you, Pam

I just have to say that as I read this blog and peoples comments I feel almost as if I'm along on the trip. Feeling and experiencing what you do. I know there are so many experiences and sights that are really beyond descprtion. I'm sure when you post pictures of the trip we will get an entirely new perspective of your experiences.
Again, just continue to have loads of fun.
